Mrs. Mae Wess Mitchell, 83, of Ozark, AL passed peacefully Saturday November 13, 2021 in her home.

Sister Mae Wess Mitchell was born November 15, 1937 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Wess Smith of Dale County, AL She joined St Paul A.M.E Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend S.D. Parker.  Later in life she joined Church of God By Faith where she remained a faithful servant until her passing.

She met Christopher Mitchell while he was stationed at Fort Rucker, AL. They were married August 2, 1962. She was preceded in death by her husband Christopher Mitchell April 6, 1998. She leaves to cherish her memory four children: One daughter;  Neva Collins (Atlanta); three sons: Ceasar McGruder (Ozark); Christopher Mitchell (LA); Augustus Mitchell (Ozark); nine grandchildren: Toney Collins (Tonya) & Alekey Collins (Atlanta), Austin Mitchell (Janet), Brandon Griffin, Brittny McLeod, Marqueta Mitchell, Kalecie McLeod (Ozark), Ashley Mitchell (Atlanta), and Keontaye Mitchell; 15 great-grandchildren; three loving nephews, sons of her deceased ONLY sibling Mattie Beecham: Shaheed, Michael and Samuel Beecham, and an extended family and loved ones.
