Markavious' Story
Markavious Dewayne Rumph entered this world on December 14, 2007, in Ozark, Alabama. He completed his earthly journey and entered eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on May 7, 2026. Though his time here was brief, the profound impact of his life will forever resonate in the hearts of all who loved him.
Markavious attended Shiloh African Methodist Episcopal Church in Mt. Andrew, Alabama. He accepted Christ while attending the YouthBuild Program at Wallace Community College, beginning a new walk with Jesus Christ.
Raised in Eufaula, Markavious received his early education through the Eufaula City School system, where he became known for his athletic ability. Whether on the basketball court or football field, he played with determination and confidence that reflected the spirit he carried throughout his life.
Markavious’ story is not simply one of talent, but one of resilience. He faced challenges and endured setbacks, yet he refused to allow them to define him. Instead, he chose to rewrite his story. He enrolled in the YouthBuild Program at Wallace Community College in Eufaula to pursue his GED, and what he accomplished there spoke volumes about his perseverance and determination. He became the first student in recent years to pass all four sections of the GED exam within a single week. Filled with pride and excitement, he boldly declared, “I’m on my way now!”
While working toward his GED, Markavious completed more than twenty hours of community service, numerous leadership and construction courses, and earned workforce certifications through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s 10-Hour Outreach Training Program (OSHA 10) and the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). He was preparing to enroll at Wallace Community College to study welding. Markavious had big dreams, meaningful goals, and a vision for his future.
Coming from a musically gifted family, Markavious developed a deep love for rap music and could often be heard freestyling with effortless confidence and creativity. He recently released a rap album titled Most Wanted Gator.
He also enjoyed good food—especially fish and chips. Markavious took immense pride in his appearance and sharp sense of style. He often jokingly reminded his father that he was the better dresser of the two, a playful rivalry that brought endless laughter to their home.
Affectionately known as “Man” by his family, Markavious possessed a vibrant and magnetic personality that could light up any room. He was a natural prankster who loved catching his parents and aunt off guard with playful antics and lighthearted shenanigans. His infectious laughter, quick wit, and unforgettable spirit created memories that his loved ones will treasure forever.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving parents, Yolanda Wynn and Marcus Dewayne Rumph of Mt. Andrew; two brothers, DaMarkis Deyun Rumph of Mt. Andrew and Zakalien Zarkel Walker of Ozark; and one sister, Zion Amari’ann Streeter of Eufaula.
He is also lovingly remembered by his grandmothers, Inetha Wynn of Eufaula and Ethel Bell Rumph of Mt. Andrew; his grandfather, Charles Green Sr. (Bobbi Jo) of Eufaula; and he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur James Harris Jr.
Additional cherished memories will forever live on through his aunts, Chaketa Green of Eufaula and Kimberly Thompson of Auburn; his uncles, Charles Green Jr. of Eufaula, Eric (Cicely) Rumph of Moody, and Derrick (Lathrell) Rumph of Bryant, Arkansas; his special friend, Shayanna Lager; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
For 18 magnificent years, Markavious gave his family love, laughter, hope, and memories that will never fade. Though hearts are heavy with sorrow, they are equally filled with gratitude for the time shared with him. Now, with tearful hearts and enduring love, they entrust him into the arms of his Heavenly Father, where his bright spirit will rest eternally.
