Augusta Mitchell Obituary

Augusta Mauriese Mitchell was born on February 22, 1965 transitioned to his Savior, Jesus Christ on the evening of May 28, 2023. Brother Augusta Mitchell was born in Munich, Germany on February 22,1965 while his late parents SSG (Ret) Christopher and Mrs. Mae Mitchell were stationed there by the U.S. Army. He Graduated from Carroll High School in 1984 where he gained his reputation of being flamboyant and many lifelong friends. During his early adult age, he enjoyed fast cars, reading and sports. He took much pleasure in living in his pastime with friends and family. Gus loved to laugh and entertain with jokes always the light of the party.

Gus was the owner and operator of Redeem Car Care. Where he gathered and entertained most days with his customers and friends. Gus enjoyed a home cooked meal and didn’t mind cooking one himself. He was known for coming up with comical nicknames for himself which only displayed his confident persona. He joined St Paul A.M.E Church at an early age. Later in life he joined St Mark A.M.E. where he remained a faithful servant until his passing.

Gus Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory six children: Austin Mitchell (Janet), Brandon Griffin, Brittny McLeod, Marquetta Mitchell, Kalecie McLeod and Keotonye Mitchell (Ozark): and nine grandchildren. A devoted, and dedicated former wife, Lucretia Ford (Ozark). One sister; Neva Collins (Atlanta); two brothers Ceasar McGruder (Ozark); Christopher Mitchell (LA); two nephews: Toney Collins (Tonya) & Alekey Collins (Tondy) (Atlanta), one niece: Ashley Mitchell, and an extended family of cousins and loved ones.
