Kenneth Mckinnis Obituary

Kenneth Adam Mckinnis of Ozark, AL transitioned December 2, 2021 in Springville, AL. He was born in Ozark, AL to Barbara Crittenden and Kenneth Smith on June 23, 1986. He went to school at Carroll High in Ozark, AL.

Adam was a sweet, compassionate, loving and optimistic individual. He never allowed the adversaries he faced due to poor decisions he made get him down mentally or emotionally. He refused to give them energy and was able to keep himself together and smile. Adam believed that him being incarcerated the past 16 years and what seemed liked a failure to many, was part of his journey and was necessary for him to become the man he had become. He felt God had put him through this in order for him to touch the lives of many young black males that he ministered to, saved from trouble, suicide and many he fed. He was always inspirational, uplifting and encouraging to all around him. The smile and positivity that he had was very contagious, you couldn’t help but smile when you spoke with him. The friends he made in life, both male and female, were still involved in his life until death even though he was incarcerated. They ensured he was emotionally and financially supported along with his family. He made several good friends that were dear to his heart, Mario Woodward, Kharon Davis and Damien Green. Adam loved his family, friends, chatting on the telephone, but most of all he loved God. His favorite chapter in the Bible was Psalm 91. He felt that at times God didn’t believe he knew him but he kept his faith in God until the end. You will forever be truly loved and deeply missed.

Adam is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Mckinnis-Crittenden, his paternal grandmother Emma Johnson, his maternal grandfather Robert Ford Mckinnis and his maternal grandmother Lera Mckinnis, birth mother, Rosie Mae Crittenden Ardis.
